Root Beer Chicken Recipe

Chicken breast recipes can be made in a variety of different ways, and one of those is with root beer. Continue reading this article for ingredients and directions on how to prepare it. If you'd like to try a chicken recipe that has a sweet taste to go along with a bit of a spicy kick, then this may be a meal to check out. In root beer chicken, the soda adds sweetness to the dish, and in this particular method, ground pepper, red peppers, and ginger give the meal a kick.

The total time needed to prepare and cook this recipe can be in the neighborhood of 30 minutes if fried, or 1 hour or slightly more if baked. Once completed, it should serve roughly 6 people.

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 onion, sliced thinly
1 bell pepper, red or other color, sliced
2 tsp. ginger, diced
1 can, 12 fl. oz, root beer (RB)
Ground black pepper to taste

Directions

If frying the meal, place the chicken in a pan, and set the stove's flame to medium. The initial ingredient to be added is the RB. Then, the other ones can also be added. After the RB has come to a boil, turn the chicken to let both sides become cooked well.

To bake this meal in the oven, use a casserole dish, and place the chicken breasts in it, then adding the remaining ingredients. Let it bake at 350 degrees, covered, until the chicken is tender -- around 40 minutes, give or take 5. Take away the cover, and let the meal continue to bake for an additional 10 minutes.
